Poorly differentiated ductal carcinoma 500x M-G-G staining

Poorly differentiated ductal carcinoma 500x M-G-G staining

Poorly differentiated ductal carcinoma 500x M-G-G staining

Poorly differentiated ductal carcinoma 500x M-G-G staining

The M-G-G stained smears show many easily recognizable malignant cells with anaplastic features, but clearly of epithelial type. Most of the cells are in loosely arranged groups, with oddly shaped (basophilic) cytoplasm, and large irregular nuclei, with abnormal chromatin, and many large nucleoli. An exploratory laparatomy was done, and an inoperable pancreatic tumor was found. Biopsy of the mass revealed poorly differentiated carcinoma of ductal origin.
