* I disagree with the position of my Dutch friends, in that I don“t think we can say there is a continuum/spectrum of endocervical columnar cell neoplasia (ECCIN of several grades) that precede AIS or adenocarcinoma of the endocervix. We really know very little about the natural history of adenocarcinoma of the cervix.
** Most of the papers abstracted in The Doctor“s Doctor page lend support to the position that there are no known precursor lesions to AIS of the cervix.
