News from Elliot Lake
May 29/02
well, we've had a very busy month!!
Conrad and I went to see Jane Goodall's lecture at Laurentian University, which I'm sure everyone's heard about - while we were in Sudbury Papa took Caelan to see Spiderman, which he loved (which did he love more; the movie or having Papa all to himself!)
We went to St.Catharines and Toronto - Caelan had his MRI which was perfect!
We got to see John and Toni and the kids before they left for Winnipeg, and the boys celebrated their birthdays at Grandma Mira's and at Kim's. Brittany and Alex made a treasure hunt for the boys to find their presents - that was really cool and the boys obviously loved it.
OUR SNOW IS GONE!!
Caelan got a new bike for his birthday ("the Scorcher") and Conrad got a nice Wolf Figurine thing:)
Grandma and Papa took us to Science North for out birthdays where we had a great time at the Jane Goodall exhibit - we saw the Chimps Imax movie and the Amazon Imax movie - the boys visited with a milk snake, a flying squirrel, an orphaned beaver (Conrad asked them if poachers got his parents), Vietnamese Walking Sticks and Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches (oh yes, they held them while I stood back at a very safe distance, I don't think Grandma got any closer to them than I did).
Conrad is having his birthday party June 1.
AND as a special thank you to Conrad for being so wonderful the whole time Caelan was in treatment and always being very understanding about Caelan needing so much more time and attention I wanted to do something very special for him - a special thank you, as I think how wonderful he was through all of it has been overlooked.:

as some of you may know, me and the boys were obsessed with the Amazing Race 2. Conrad was a huge supporter of team cha-cha-cha (Danny and Oswald). He admired the way they played a fair game and they always tried to avoid altercations with the other players. Today Conrad received an e-mail from them congratulating him on being a wonderful kid! Danny and Oswald also just held a huge benefit with all proceeds going to a foundation for Sick Kids.
(Now I just have to work on getting Indiana Jones to come and visit Caelan!!)
Well, I guess that pretty much sums up the month of May.
Thanks to Kim for putting up with me staying at their place for a few days again (and a special thanks to Brittany and Alex who made me a Mother's Day breakfast in bed)and for the boys' birthday dinner, and for letting us bring the stomach flu into your house! And thanks for downloading our movies!
Thanks to Grandma and Papa for our fun and fabulous birthday presents (the 2 trips to Sudbury), and thanks for the birthday dinner and cake (it was great even if Papa did still a piece before we got there!) and thanks for babysitting Missy.
Thanks to Leslie for the Spiderman movie and interesting subway trip, thanks to Dad for a fun time in Toronto (especially the Candy Island trip).
Thanks to John and Toni for the shopping.
Thanks to Skyler and his parents for having Conrad over for a great visit.
Thanks to Aunt Judy and Uncle Jack for some really cool Spiderman t-shirts!
Thanks to Grandma Mira for hosting the party,
and thanks to everyone for all the happy birthdays! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
maybe i shouldn't have written out the thanks - I'm afraid I've forgotten someone, if  I did - it's only because I'm rushing and THANK YOU!
AND I'll work on our photo album - I'm really horrible at using our scanner.
