Jenny Brewer Conner, 37, of Belmont, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2002, at home after a courageous five-year battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Her husband and most intimate friend, Jeffrey J. Conner, and her two cherished sons, Joshua T. Conner and Jacob B. Conner, were at her side as she quietly passed into Glory; at last free from the torments of her wounded body. The tangible presence of the living Jesus was so dominant in her that all who knew Jenny just marveled at her strength and the perseverance of her faith.
Born in Dillon County, SC, Jenny was graduated from Francis Marion College and entered the insurance industry for several years. She later employed her talents as an administrative coordinator for a variety of businesses and churches. In addition to residing in South Carolina and the Charlotte area, Jenny also spent time in Arizona and in the Republic of Korea. She and her husband had a special love and appreciation for the people and culture of Korea. She was blessed with a professional quality singing voice that rang beautifully during opportunities for praise and worship to the glory of her Lord and Savior. And many were charmed by her smooth southern accent especially when she shared her love and the confession of her faith. Many were touched and blessed by the sheer force of her presence and the purity of her heart. She so cherished her husband and her wonderful little boys, each of whom will always love her dearly and so miss her deeply. Two loving stepsons, David J. Conner and Jonathan J. Conner, of Thomasville, GA also survive her. She was truly a beautiful woman, mother, friend, and above all, spiritual partner and wife.
The family would like to thank all those who tended to her needs and cared for her family during these hard years. A special thanks to all her friends who helped to bathe her, pray with her, feed her, cry with her, and who never abandoned her. She loved you all.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life and glorifying her Savior will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2002 at Christ Episcopal Church at 1412 Providence Road in Charlotte, NC. Her husband will officiate. |
