| Why Michael Landon Killed Victor French | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| At some point each of us has asked ourself: "Why did Michael Landon become a household name?" Was he a talented actor? No. Did he sleep with TV producers? Maybe. Did he get others to do his dirty work? Undoubtedly. Throughout Landon's mediocre career, Victor French acted as personal assistant and whipping boy to Landon's out of control ego-driven narcisism. Their friendship began on the set of Bonanza during the 1960s and blossomed during the 1970s on the Little House on the Prairie. But by the mid-80s, Landon's bizarre religious fanaticism and political outspokenness drove a permanent wedge between the former bedfellows. Landon's absurd craving for a human sacrifice in the 3rd season of Highway to Heaven baffled critics and French alike. In 1988, Landon announced he was leaving the show to pursue a snuff-porn career. French was outraged, claiming that Landon had not invited him to join. Both men kicked the bucket shortly thereafter --- of the monkey AIDS Did Landon kill French? Yes, but French was a willing partner. In 1978, Landon and French signed a secret blood pact promising that if one of them contacted a terminal illness, they would immediately infect the other. Landon contracted the disease in 1983 after a wild night with "Little House" castmember Dean "Almanzo" Butler, but was unaware of his illness until 1987. |

| After French's death in 1989, Landon briefly courted French's eleven year-old granddaughter. He proposed to her in 1990 but was turned down. She reportedly refused because she had a "crush" on Kirk Cameron | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Landon's lowest TV moment came in 1978 when he starred in his own Christmas TV special, "It's a Very Landon-ny Christmas" in which Landon charges Santa with statutory rape and first degree murder. Ratings were poor, but still better than it's chief competition, the "Let's Save Tony Orlando's House" Telethon. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
