The early morning sun peeked through the slightly opened curtains to a room where a person lay. A few rays grazed across the familiar face, and her eyes slowly opened. This is how she was woken every morning, no alarm, just the sun and the sounds of the morning.

Her hands rose to rub her tired eyes. Sliding her legs over the cool sheets she slid them over the side of the bed to sit up and greet the day. She rose from the bed. Her oversized Tommy shirt that belonged to her younger brother covered a pair of red shorts that seemed to be unnoticed by the length of the shirt.

Stumbling away from her queen sized bed; she fumbled to stand up after tripping on a book she had been reading the night before. Instead, she fell down the three stairs that led from her elevated bed.

She slowly got up and blew her hair out of hair face as she looked at the book that seemed to be grinning at her. She mumbled under her breathe as she walked to her bedroom door and opened it. She looked back into her room.

The ocean blue walls held shadows cast from the windows on the opposite side of the room. Her bed was held off the floor but cast iron metal bars that had been painted a pale yellow to match the sheer curtains that covered her bay window. Her bed was a large queen with the same pale yellow colour silky sheets. Several small pillows covered the top near the twisted metal headboard, some thrown on the floor from the night before.

Three steps led down from the bed to a lower level where a genie bottle shaped dresser held her many clothes and a white seashell covered lamp that her parents had bought her on their trip to Hawaii. On the other side of the room she had a huge walk in closet, and several small white shelves that held candles that smelled of flowers and the beach. Another shelf held books and other small objects.

She looked around suspiciously then walked out of the room and down the long hall and into the big kitchen. She walked over the counter and opened one of the many kitchen cabinets. She looked inside the cabinet that was above the sink, which had at least forty different types of glasses. She took one out and opened another cabinet that was beside and took out the matching plate. She placed the two items on the island that they used as a table too when they didn't want to eat in the dinning room.

She tiredly walked to the big white refrigerator and opened it. While she yawned, she took out the milk she needed and walked back to the table. After she placed the milk, she walked to the cabinet that was beside the fridge and took out a metallic box and walked to the drawers that were beside the washing machine and took out a spoon. She walked back to the table and made a cup of chocolate. She took her cup and walked to the microwave and heated it for two minutes. During the wait, she replaced the cacao powder and the milk to its place and walked out of the kitchen to get the journal.

Walking into the house with the newspaper in hand, she heard the faint beeping of the microwave signalling that the heating was over. She looked into the living room and shook her head when she saw how early it was. She placed the journal on the table and went to the white box that contained her drink. She winced at how hot the plate was. She walked to the table and took the plate and then took a rug that she'd use to place her hot mug on the plate without burning her hand. With that done, she placed the steamy drink on the table and throwed behind her the rug which miraclely landed in the sink.

Satisfied, she sat down and took a tiny sip. She practically jumped out of her seat when she burned her tongue. She shook her head and decided to read the front paper while she waited for the drink to cool off a little.

As she placed her mug down, she heard someone walking down the long hallway before coming into the living room. She continued to read her journal when someone joined her in the kitchen. Good morning Elishia. greeted Nat, the cook.

Elishia folded her morning paper and watched the older woman walk to the refrigerator and open it. Nat was in her early fifties and was a single woman. As Elishia watched her look into the fridge and take out a few items she needed to make breakfast, Tina walked in.

Good morning Nat, Elishia! she greeted.

Tina sat down and watched the paper that was hiding Elishia's sleepy eyes. All she saw was her hand that was resting on her cup of hot chocolate, bringing it behind the journal to take a sip before putting it back on the table. Tina sat across Elishia and cleared her throat to get her attention. Elishia bended the paper again with her eyebrows lifted.

Whatcha doing today? she asked with a voice that seemed full of life.

Reading the news while drinking, waiting for a letter from Florida, nothing else. Why? she replied studying her housemaid who nodded before getting up and went upstairs to do Elishia's bed.

A few moments later, James, the butler, walked in whistleling a tune. He sat down beside Elishia and grabbed a few section of the newspaper.

Elishia, did you already go check on your brothers beach house this week? James asked waiting for his coffee to be done while he read the news.

Nope. I was planning on doing it today, she answered without leaving the paper still waiting for her breakfast as the rest of the house slowly woke up.

Most of the workers passed by the kitchen and went into the dining room to talk about their plans of the day as the servant girls walked from room to room. Elishia was almost done eating when the phone rang. Tina, who was standing beside it, answered it.

Hello, how may I help you? she said while walking back to her seat and sitting down.

Hi. This is Johnny Wright from Jive Records from Orlando, may I speak with Elishia please? asked the caller.

Could you please hold while I give her the phone? asked Tina.

Sure,

Tina looked up at Elishia who was eating a carrot still reading the paper. She cleared her throat and Elishia looked up.

A certain Mister Wright would like to talk with you, Tina said handing to cordless phone to her.

Elishia quickly swallowed her bite as she took the phone and got up from her place to walk into the living room.

How can I help you Mister Wright? she asked sitting down in the black leather sofa.

I hope I didn't call at a wrong time,

Not at all, she replied toeing the white carpet.

I'm reviled. I was calling you to know if you are still interested in the offer I made last month?

Of course I am!

After making a few arrangements, Elishia walked back into the kitchen and placed the phone back to its place on the wall. She walked back to her place and took her plate and placed them in the sink after she took the last carrot.

I'm going to Orlando to have a meeting with Mister Wright so Tina, as soon as your done eating go get ready because I would like to go to the beach house quickly, Elishia said before walking out of the kitchen.

She walked in her bedroom and made a beeline strait into her closet and looked around the many clothes that were hanging. Elishia sighted as she turned the radio on and listened to a song that was playing. She had no clue what to wear. Just as on cue, the DJ came on and said today's weather. Hearing that the weather would be really hot, she walked to the section of the closet were the perfect clothes were for a day like today. After choosing a light purple mini-skirt with deep purple flowery designs and a purple sleeveless shirt with a line of decorative buttons, she walked out of the closet and into the bathroom.

After stripping out of her clothes, she walked to the shower and turned the water on. While waiting for the water to get to the right temperature, she attached her hair into a loose ponytail. Seeing steam coming out of the shower, she walked into the shower closing the boor behind her. She closed her eyes letting the warm water hit her body as she tried to take her shower gel without opening her eyes. She placed her hands a little too far and the bottle fell to the floor. Elishia opened her eyes and looked down before groaning and picked the bottle up.

After showering, she walked out of the shower and dried herself quickly. She dressed up and looked at her reflection wondering what to do with her hair. She liked the way her hair was curled up when they got a little wet and decided to keep that look. She opened the bottom cabinet and took out a bottle. She took off the cap and closed her eyes before spraying her hair. Satisfied she placed the spray bottle back to its place and opened the drawer that was there. She looked through her make up and took out a light purple eye shadow, black mascara, a white-eye liner, a pale brown lip liner and the lipstick. She applied her make up lightly and was done within two minutes. Satisfied she replaced her make up back into the drawer and closed the drawer and after the cabinet.

She walked out of the bathroom and went back in her walk in closet and took off her light purple purse from the top shelf and walked further in to take her sandals that matched her purse. She slipped into them and walked back into her bedroom and toward the door. She picked up her black purse and left her room. She walked to Tina's room and knocked on her door.

Come in! I'm almost done Elishia. Tina yelled from the bedroom.

Elishia let herself in and walked in. The room was much smaller then hers and the bed wasn't on a second floor. The deep blue walls held a few picture frames and two shelves on which were a few books and much more stuffed animals. Opposite to that wall was the connecting bathroom was tiny compared to Elishia's. The covers of the bed were a light blue with darker blue pillows. On the opposite wall were two white dressers with four drawers each. A circular mirror was above both of them reflecting the outside view. The room didn't even have a walk in closet.

Elishia walked to the bed that was under the window and sat down. She looked outside and smiled when she saw the beautiful weather outside. After a few minutes, she decided to transfer her belongings from one purse to the other while Tina got ready.

Five minutes later, Tina walked out of the bathroom wearing a white tank top and jean shorts. She looked at what Elishia was wearing and looked at herself feeling bad. All she wanted to do was to run back into the bathroom and lock herself in where she would cry. She never had enough money to buy nice clothes and since her parents died, all there was left was Elishia's family. She slowly walked to her bed and got to her knees before lifting up her comforter and slide out her brown sandals. She let the comforter fall back to its place and got up on her feet. She slid into the shoes and smiled at Elishia signalling that she was ready.

The two of them walked out of the room and down the hall towards the garage as Elishia looked at her keys that were in her hand. She looked at Tina's back and looked back at her keys.

Which car do you want to go with Tina? Alex's BMW, Mark's Mercedes Benz convertible or my Chrysler convertible? she asked as Tina opened a door.

Tina turned around to face her and had a mischievous smile.

Mark's car. He's not here to tell us that were' not allowed to get in with our shoes on. she said before laughing.

The two girls walked into the garage and went toward the grey car as the garage door opened. They headed to the guy's beach house in Laguna Beach to check if everything was fine. After cleaning a little around they went back home.
