If I had no help or suggestions to offer, I would
still be obliged to point out that powerful drugs and
shock treatments are being given for made-up diseases. However, I do have some advice for those occasions when a person finds himself mentally troubled. One thing to do is to get a thorough medical checkup from a non-psychiatric doctor, to see if a medical problem is present, such as a tumor, hypothyroidism, or other physical problem with the body. Actual physical problems can be the source of mental troubles. Another thing to do is to make sure you are eating right, getting vitamins, and getting enough sleep, if possible.
