This is Love Its 1:30 a.m. A woman lies awake in bed, staring at her ceiling, her husband sound asleep beside. She sees shadows cast around her attic room and hears a car engine shut off. She gets up and moves to the window to see her two young teenage sons get out of the car, and return safely home, just like she knew they would. She gets into bed, and falls asleep immediately. This is love. A man in his mid-twenties sits at the back of a bus, talking with his friends. He hears the loud argument coming from the front of the bus, and learns that the bus driver will not let a young woman on the bus. The man gets up and puts two dollars in the coin receptacle saying, "There you go maam." "Finally" the woman responds. The man looks at the bus driver and back to the woman who has sat down. He returns to his seat, without a thank-you. This is love. A five year-old boy playing in a sandbox notices a very skinny squirrel digging at a pole nearby in his yard. The boy gets up, and runs toward the pole, scaring the squirrel up the tree. The young boy looks at the bottom of the pole and sees an acorn stuck underneath a root. The boy reaches down and removes the acorn, leaves it beside the pole, and runs into his house. He stands at the door watching intently. The squirrel returns, puts the acorn in his mouth and scampers back up the tree. This is love. A man walking along a street notices a well-known single mother prostitute at the corner ahead. He walks up to the woman, and asks, "How much is your fee for a night?" "Usually, hundred bucks, you lookin for a good time?" "Here," the man says as he pulls out two fifty dollar bills. "...take this and go sleep with your children tonight." And he walks away. This is love.
