| In February 2003 we took a short trip to UAE and Oman. We spent the first three days in Dubai, UAE where Kristen was playing in a soccer tournament, and the next six in Oman in the vicinity of the capital, Muscat. One of our first stops in Oman was the Mutrah Souk in the Muscat area, which is said to be one of the best traditional souks in the Gulf region. From Muscat, we took day trips to Nizwa and Jabrin, southwest of Muscat, and to Nakhal and Rustaq to the northwest. We also went snorkelling in the Gulf of Oman just south of Muscat. |
