"Nelson fully realizes that he has not the stuff that he had in days gone by and his words with Jimmy Britt before entering the ring showed that the Dane did not carry the confidence that he had in the old days. Just before jumping through the ropes Bat spied Britt and walking over to him said, �If the old mitts hold out, Jimmy, I will beat this Dutchman.�
     The old mitts held out all right and the Battler went the limit, which was more than a majority of the fans expected him to do. Nelson is through and the chances are that the fans have seen the Dane for the last time in action. Bat has retired a number of times, but now it is doubtful whether he will ever enter the ring again."
