Battling Nelson-Ad Wolgast
"Punchers like Joe Gans, Herreta Britt, Corbett Hyland, and Canole could not hurt me with the best they had in their entire stock in trade. Wolgast is not to be compared with any of this group. Is it reasonable, then to believe that I am worrying about the battle? I cordially hate Wolgast and am going to give him the whipping that will eliminate him forever as a prize ring factor. He will be yelling for mercy before the fifteenth round, and I'll stop him inside of eighteen. I am still the same Nelson, as far as stamina is concerned, as in perfect condition and Wolgast might as well pound the Rock of Gibraltar as waste his punches on me. And to beat that, he cannot punch hard enough to dislodge my collar buttons."
