![]() Ad Wolgast shaking hands with Tom Jones after victory over Battling Nelson, February 1910. |      “We never had a doubt as to result of fight. Wolgast was not hurt in twenty-second round, but wanted Nelson to think he was. Wolgast will not fight again for three months. Hester has made proposition to sign with Freddie Welsh. I told him Wolgast’s terms were $20,000, win, lose, or draw. He has taken it under consideration. There has been no talk of a return match with Nelson. If it comes up, you bet Wolgast will do the dictating. We are besieged with offers of theatrical work, and I will decide on some dates right away. It looks as though we will accept some California engagements first.”Tom Jones February 25, 1910 |
