The day after the Nelson Fight. Ad Wolgast February 22, 1910 San Francisco Chronicle

"I am naturally much elated with my victory. I was satisfied after the ten-round bout with Nelson in Los Angeles that I was his master. I went into the ring knowing that I could win and I followed out a carefully mapped out line of battle.
Nearly all of Nelson's opponents had gone in to knock him out quick. I realized that the only way to whip the Battler was to wear him down with body punches. I fought along those lines all the way and never for a moment changed my tactics despite the damage I did to his face. I made this line of attack merely to make him raise his guard and give me a chance to get in damaging body blows."Ad Wolgast February 23, 1910 Denver Post
