 Ad Wolgast-Harry Baker
|
"Ad Wolgast made a class A sucker out of Harry Baker tonight in a ten round bout before the Pacific Athletic Club. Whatever reputation Baker had enjoyed in this city in the past as a fighter be dropped with a decided thump. He very plainly demonstrated that his long suit is marathon running and not prize fighting.
From the opening gong until the last of the ten round bout it was the same story throughout. Wolgast continually on top of his man swinging both hands to body and head with Baker footing it every chance he could get away. From Baker's exhibition tonight it was very plain to see this: he is no longer even a second class featherweight, for what punches he tried to land had no force to them. Had the affair gone four or five round further there is no doubt but Wolgast would have punished his man."March 10,1908 San Francisco Chronicle
