Cristian's Choice (a continuation of Unexpcted)
Chapter Two
Jen Rappaport
Jennifer stared through the sky. She was walking through the park and thinking. She suddenly flashed back to a few hours earlier.
"Al. You are my best friend. You have been since first day we met. I've never known anyone who would do so much for me like you do. I know I can always count on you just like you can count on me." I told him.
"Jen. I-"
"No, wait. Let me finish. I can always count on you to never lie to me and never let me down, because so many people in my life already have and-"
"Jen! Stop it. I have to tell you something."
"What?"
"You were wrong. I'm not as great as you think I am. I have lied to you and I let you down in the worse possible way."
"What are you talking about?"
"I've been lying to you, Jen. I can walk and I have been able to for awhile now."
Tears burst into my eyes as I thought about it. I can't believe Al lied to me.I thought I knew him. I thought he knew me. He said he did it because he didn't want to lose me, and he didn't want me to go back to Cristian. But he wrecked everything. He wrecked our friendship and now I hope I never see him again. He lied to me. And he let me down, just like everyone else in my life. He had told me that he was gonna tell me the night it happened, but then he saw me and Cristian kissing and then me telling him that I'll be with Al as long as he can't walk. So he decided he couldn't tell me the truth. But it's not fair, she thought. Al is suppose to be my best friend. The one person in this world that I can trust. But if I can't trust him, who can I trust. Then I noticed someone sitting on a park bench near by. It was Cristian! I know I can count on you, Cristian, she thought. Then she ran over to him and gave him a big hug.
"Jen. It's great to see you. I have to tell-" he started.
"Cristian! Al can walk! He's been lying to me and everyone else for months."
"What? Your kidding, right?"
"No, I'm not. So I'm not gonna marry him. I just want what I've always wanted since you came into my life. And it's you. I want you, Cristian. I still love you. I've always have and I always will."
"Jen. I-"
"Ssh... I want this moment to last forever." Then I put my hands to his face and passionately kissed him
"I can't believe, I didn't see it before. I can't believe all those times we've wasted. I shouldn't have left you, Cristian. Your my everything. I don't know what I would do if I ever lost you."
"Jennifer! Don't say that. You were fine before we met. But theirs something I have to tell you. And I don't think-" he started
"I know. But it wouldn't be the same without you. I'm so glad we can be together again." But once again because he could anything I kissed him again. Then I realized he was trying to tell me something. Hmm... I wonder what it is I thought. Then I noticed his jaw drop.
"Cristian? What's wrong?" I asked. Then I noticed Jessica standing right behind us. And she looked completely devastated. What's that all about? Cristian explained to me long ago that him and Jessica were so over. So what did she have to feel hurt for?
"What's wrong Jessica?" But Jessica ignored my question.
"Cristian! How could you do to me. You just told me that you love me and I left for 10 minutes to give you a surprise and you run straight to Jennifer. I thought you said that you were over her. That I'm the only one you love now."
"What is she talking about, Cristian? Tell her you don't love her. Tell her I'm the only one you love! Tell her!" I said really upset.
"But I do love her, Jennifer. Don't you get that? I'm been in love with Jessica since we were 15 years old. Love like that just doesn't disappear. I'm sorry."
"No, Cristian. We just kissed. Twice. And you didn't pull away. You wanted to kiss me just as much as I wanted to kiss you. You still love me. You can't deny it." I looked over at Jessica. Tears were in my eyes, and tears started to spring all over Jessica's too.
"You kissed her twice?" she mumbled.
"Jessica! She kissed me! I tried to explain what's happening but I didn't get a chance."
"Please, Cristian. You had plenty of chances. If you really truly wanted to pull away you would have. If you truly wanted to tell her about us you would have. So your gonna have to make a choice, Cristian. It's me or her. You can't have us both." And with that Jessica ran off in tears. Cristian looked like he was ready to run after her but I grabed his shoulder.
"Oh, no. I don't think so. Your staying here with me. We are going to talk about this now."
