In memory of Bro. Walter Moore, who was born in Virginia October 8, 1857; died at his home near Clear Springs, on 10th day of February, 1908; aged 50 years, 4 months and 2 days.  Deceased was married to Lucy E. Thomas November 10, 1879 from which union were born 7 children, five sons, and two daughters, all of whom are living.  He was converted in the year of 1879 and joined the M. E. Church, South, remaining a member of that body until he was called to join the blood washed throne on high.
The writer has known Bro. Moore for 17 years and always found him to be a truly good man.  He was very much devoted to his church and willing to make sacrifice to advance the cause of Christ.  He lived expecting to die, and died expecting to live in a better world.
He has been sorely afflicted for about two years prior to his death, but was very patient and hopeful all the while and his faith in God seemed to grow stronger though the body grew weaker day by day.  A few hours before death he called his wife and children to his bedside and after instructin them how to live he bade them goodbye and spoke of the happy meeting again by and by.
He leaves his wife and children, an aged father, two brothers, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn their loos, but thank God we know where to find him.
May we all so live that we may enjoy such a glorious victory in the end.
The funeral services were conducted by the writer and the boyd tenderaly laid to rest in New Hope Cemetery to await the resurrection of the just.
The graves of all His saints be blest, And softened every bed;  Where should the dying members rest.
That with their dying head!
Goodbye, Bro Moore, but not forever. JJ Carty.
