Velma Freeman
1919-2000

  Funeral services for Velma Freeman, 80, of Dora were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13 at the Ball Church of Christ.  Burial was in the Ball Cemetery.
  Mrs. Freeman died at 3:55 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2000, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.  She was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Hebron, the daughter of Silas and Zora Collins.  On May 5, 1940, she married Clyde Lovan in Douglas County, who preceded her in death in May 1969.  On Nov. 21, 1971, she married George Washington Freeman in Dora.
  She was a member of the Willow Springs Freewill Baptist Church for many years.
  Mrs. Freeman is survived by two sons, Lowell Lovan and wife SAlly and Glen Lovan and wife Geraldine, all of Dora; five grandchildren, Dianna Simpson, Bebra Ann Lovan and Sarah Lovan, all of Dora, Justin Lovan and wife Angie and Emmy Lou Ellison and husband Mike, all of Gainesville; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Lirl Collins and Wiley Collins and wife Ernestine, all of Willow Springs;  four sisters, Lila McGlocklin of Oklahoma City, Okla., Illa Belvora and husband Maynard of Colony, Kan., Flossie Collins and husband Otis and Violet Collins, all of Willow Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
