| West Plains Daily Quill 11-15-01 Vaude Wake services Friday Funera services for Vaude Wake, 72, Willow Springs, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Little Zion Baptist Church, with David Lovan and Rick Wheeler officiating under the direction of Willow Funeral Home of Willow Springs. Mr. Wake died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at his home. He was born April 29, 1929, at Willow Springs, the son of Otis and Pearl Turnbull Wake. On Oct. 12, 1949, he was married at Vanzant to Della Jean Gasperson, and to this union five children were born. During his working years, Mr. Wake was a logger. Later became self-employed as a truck driver, retiring after 20 years. He was a member of the Pomona Christian Church. Survivors include his wife Jean Wake, of the family home; three sons, Lowell Eugene Wake and friend, Stacy Piland, Lealin Wake and wife, Sandy, and Leslie Wake and wife, Donna, all of Willow Springs; two daughters, Sharon Konitz, Willow Springs, and Cathy May and husband, Palmer, Fair Grove; five brothers, Guy, Gardner, Arlin "Bigum", Estel and Johnny Wake, all of Willow Springs; one sister Emma Jean Reed, Sanger, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Buster Wake; and one great-granddaugther, Haley Marie Wake. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Little Zion Cemetery under the direction of Willow Funeral Home. |
