Services Yesterday For Life-Long County Resident

   Funeral services for Thomas Milton Collins, life-long Howell County resident, were held at 2 p.m. yesterday in the First Baptist Church, the Rev. James Hylton officiating.
   Mr. Collins died at 8:45 p.m. Friday in West Plains Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 48 hours.  Mr. Collins had leukemia and returned here from the University Medical Center in Columbia, Mo. only two days before his death.
   Mr. Collins was born near Grimmett, Mo. July 28, 1888, the son of the late David and Mary Jane Collins.  He spent his entire life in this area engaged in farming and on Aug. 3, 1912 he was married to Frances Morgan, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Benton Morgan, early residents of this county.  Mr. Collins retired nine years ago.
   Surviving besides his wife Frances are four children, Gayle L. Collins, Los Angeles, Calif.; Glen H. Collins, West Plains; Edward M. Collins, Collinsville, Ill. and Flossye Hopkins, West Plains; a brother Ralph Collins, West plains; four sisters, Effie Priddy, Green Forest, Ark.; Isabelle Brotherton, Springfield, Mo.; Lottie Hopkins and Ada Gildridge, both of the state of Oklahoma.
   Mr. Collins had been a member of the Baptist Church for more than 40 years with membership for the past nine years in the First Baptist Church of west Plains.
   Interment was in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Robertson funeral Home.
   Pallbearers were Clyde Collins, Don Collins, Clarence Collins, Russell Woods, Fred Collins and Jack Brotherton.

Don Collins and children, Ava, Mo.; Leon Hopkins, St. Louis, Mol; Mr. and Mrs.. J.S. Hopkins, Parsons, Kan.; Mrs. Lucy Cudworth, Rock Island, Ill.; MR. and Mrs. Edward Brant, Cabool, Mo. and Mr. and Mrs.. Clyde Brown, Mtn. Grove, Mo.
