Stanley E. Clinton Services Thursday

Funeral services for Stanley Edward Clinton, 28, Willow Springs, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, with the Rev. Ira Johnson officiating.

Mr. Clinton died today at 1:25 a.m. in Cox Medical Center, Springfield, as a result of an accident near Osceola when the horse on which he was riding was struck by a truck. He was born Nov. 14, 1948, in Douglas County, the son of Charles J. and Orpha Thornton Clinton of Willow Springs.

He had received his early education in Round Top School, finishing his education in the schools at Willow Springs. On May 4, 1968, he was married at West Plains to Bonnie Karren Collins. Mr. Clinton had been a member of the Big Springs Missionary Baptist Church for the last 16 years, was a veteran of the Vietnam war, having served as a specialist 4 during that conflict and had been the recipient of a number of medals for meritoriously serving his country, and was a member of the VFW Post at Willow Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Connie Clinton and four children, Stanley Ray Clinton, Melissa Lynn Clinton, Bryan Christopher Clinton and Lisa Kathleen Clinton, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clinton, Willow Springs; six brothers and sisters, Leon Clinton, Pomona; Lenvil Clinton, Vanzant; Joyce McDonald, Dora; Bernice Gasperson, Mtn. Grove; Randy Clinton, Republic; Ruth Sheppard, Willow Springs; and his maternal grandfather, John Thornton of Mains, Mo.

A brother, Leroy, preceded him in death Sept. 10, 1976.

Interment will be beside his brother in Little Zion Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.

Funeral services for Stanley E. Clinton, Willow Springs, were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, with the Rev. Ira Johnson officiating.
