| West Plains Daily Quill March 28, 1984 Ralph E Oaks funeral Friday Funeral services for Ralph Edmond Oaks, 54, Pomona, will be at 2 pm Friday in the Pomona Assembly of God Church with the Rev Wayne Hayes officiating. Mr Oaks died at 1:50 pm Tuesday in West Plains Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1930, at Siloam Springs, the son of Bertha Jane Johnson Oaks and the late John Andrew Oaks. He received his education in the Star School in Howell Co., and on June 16, 1950, he was married at Salem, Ark., to Evelyn E Collins. Until his retirement in 1982, he had been employed for 30 years with General Motors Corp. Corvette Division in St. Louis. Mr. Collins was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served as a sergeant in the 25th infantry Division, 35th Regiment of the United States Army. He had been of the Assembly of God faith with his membership in the Pomona Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn E Oaks, Pomona; three children, Teresa Wilson, Arnold, Roger Oaks, Rogersville, and Pamela Welsh, Leslie; five grandchildren; his mother, Bertha Oaks, West Plains; one brother, Everett Collins, Pomona; one sister, Nona Hicks, Pomona; and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and five brothers. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 pm Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. |
