| Howell County News March 28, 2002 Norma Burgess Norma Maye Burgess, 69, of Pomona died at 11:06 am, Sun., March 24, 2002 in Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. Mrs. Burgess was born Sept. 16, 1932 in Howell County, the daughter of the late Anton and Maye Brixey Bunch. She received her education in the schools around Pomona and on Sept. 22, 1949 was married at West Plains to Darrell Burgess. Mrs. Burgess was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed her flowers, gardening and gospel music. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Burgess, of the family home; one daughter, Brenda Provow and husband, Donald, Pomona; three grandchildren, Amanda Crawford and husband, Leslie, Pottersville, Robert Burgess and wife, Valeria, Miami, Florida, and Susan Burgess, willow Springs; one great grandson, Gavin Hunter Crawford, Pottersville; one step great grandson, Lane Allen Crawford, Willow Springs; four brothers and sisters, Hazel Collins and husband, Eldon, West Plains, Gayle Roper, West plains, Hervel Bunch and wife, Belva, West Plains, and Charles Bunch, Pomona; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burgess is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jackie Burgess, one sister, Loretta Oaks, and four brothers, Ralph David, Glen, and Paul Bunch. She was of the Baptist faith with her membership in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for many years. Funeral services for Norma Maye Burgess were held at 2 pm, Wed., March 27, 2002 in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home with Revered Duane Flood officiating with interment in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. |
