Funeral services for Nora Skelton today
Funeral services for Nora Gertrude Skelton, 89, Springfield, formerly of Brandsville, were at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at the Colonial Funeral Chapel, Lebanon, with Dr. Robert Taylor officiating.
Mrs. Skelton died at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at Mercy Villa, Springfield. She was born July 25, 1907, at Brandsville, the daughter of Samuel J. Bridges and Sarah M. Bridges.
On Dec. 21, 1925, she married Harwood F. Skelton, who preceded her in death in 1967.
She was a retired nurse from the office of Dr. J. H. Summers and Breech Medical Center, Lebanon.
Survivors include four sons, Clyde Skelton and wife, Clara, Memphis, Tenn., Guy F. Skelton and wife, Rita, Miami, Okla., Jay Skelton and wife, Jane, Point Vedra Beach, Fla., and Jan Skelton and wife, Carolyn, Lenexa, Kan.; two daughters, Jeannie Edwards and husband, Gene, Springfield, and Judy Sisk and husband, Jim, Licking; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Burial was at Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.
