Melvin Collins rites Saturday

  Funeral services for Melvin B. Collins, 62, West Plains, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 1989, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, witht he Rev. Glen Murray officiating.
  Mr. Collins died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 1989 in Ozarks Medical Center.  He was born March 9, 1927, at Willow Springs, the son of Elliam William Collins and William Jeneral Collins.
  He received his education in the Willow Springs School, graduating witht he class of 1945.  On June 24, 1948, he was married at West Plains to Betty Jo Petrey.  For the past 10 years he had worked as a truck driver for MFA Tel-O-Auction.  He was a veteran of World War II.  Mr. Collins was of the Baptist faith with his membership in the Dry Creek General Baptist Church for many years.
  Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Collins, of the home; two children, Carolyn Holman and husband, Jack, Alton and Dale Collins and wife, Carmen, Willow Springs:  one granddaughter; his mother, Elliam William Collins, West Plains; three brothers; Eldon Collins, West Plains, Gene Collins, Pomona, and Clifford Collins, Willow Springs; two sisters, Rita Roper, West Plains, and Deloris Brotherton, Pomona; and several nieces and nephews.
  He is preceded in death by his father.
  Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
