| Howell County News Nov 18, 2001 Megan Kaye Spence Megan Kaye Spence, 16, of Willow Springs, Mo., died at 9:15 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in Arkansas Children's Hospital, Little Rock, Ark., after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Megan was born Feb. 9, 1985, at Springfield, Mo., the daughter of Larry Dene and Linda Lorene Bunch Spence. She was a junior at the Willow Springs High School and was serving as a junior class treasurer. Megan was a member of the National Honor Society, member and treasurer of the National Forensic League, member of the tennis team and member of TREND. She was an active volunteer and committe chair of the Howell County Relay For Life and organized and distributed bears to hospitalized children through the Blessed Bear and Company. Megan is survived by her parents, Larry and Linda Spence, of the family home; her brother, Marty Spence and wife, Megan, of Springfield, Mo.; her special sister, Dawn Carr, Little Rock, Ark.; her maternal grandmother, Zora Bunch, of Twin Bridges, Mo.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Emma Spence, and her maternal grandfather, Omer Bunch. Megan was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Willow Springs, where she was active in her youth groups. Funeral services for Megan Kaye Spence were held 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Willow Springs, with interment in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. |
