| Mary Thompson services Friday Graveside services for Mary R. Thompson, 79, West Plains, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Howell Valley Cemetery, with the Revs. Glenn Murray and Clarence Burton officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of West Plains. Mrs. Thompson died 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at her home, peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 24, 1921, at Pottersville, the daughter of J.W. and Alice Collins Yocham. On March 27, 1937, she was married at West Plains to Arthur"Doc" Thompson, who preceded her in death Sept. 21, 1988. Mrs. Thompson worked at International Shoe Factory in West Plains for several years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. She was a Christian and attended United Freewill Baptist Church of West Plains. Survivors include two children, Alice Sue Faulkner and husband, Paul, and Steve Thompson and wife, Bonabeth, all of West Plains.; five grandchildren, Doug Thompson and wife, Janet, Kimberling City, and Clay Thompson and wife, Vonda, Sherri Tilson and husband, Jeff, Matt Faulkner and wife, Mickey Stout, and Paula Mize and husband, Rick, all of West Plains; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and seven sisters, Emaline McCrackin, Martha May Weaver, Flossie Walker, Alberta Thompson, Wilma Lee Collins, Madie Yocham and an infant sister. |
