Mary Ellen Waggoner
Mary Ellen Waggoner, 87, died at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Mtn. View, Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 3:20 p.m. Mrs. Waggoner was a pioneer citizen, having been born and raised in Texas county. she was the daughter of the late Tom and Margaret McCalhin Cox and was born April 22, 1878.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Hoisington, Willow Springs; a son, Thomas W. Tower, Springfield; and a brother, Everett Cox, Willow Springs. Four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Burns Chapel with the Rev. L. O. Huitt, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial was made in the City Cemetery under direction of Burns Funeral Home.
