Marvin Collins Services Wednesday

  Funeral services for Marvin Feral Collins, 74, West Plains, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains, with Evangelist Hillard Story officiating.
  Mr. Collins died 9:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains.  He was born Dec. 13, 1926, near West Plains, the son of Herb and Opal Collins.
  Immedialtely after graduation from Bakersfield High School in 1945, he entered the U.S. Army where he served until Oct. 3, 1946. Part of his service time was spent in Germany where he was awarded the Army Occupational Medal.  He also was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. On May 16, 1948, he was married at West Plains to Loretta Fox.
  He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended West 160 Church of Christ.  He was the mail carrier on the West Plains to Gainesville route for 37 years, retiring Feb. 3, 1995.
  Surviving him are his wife of 52 years, Loretta Collins, of the family home; one daughter, Carol Goehring and husband, George, West Plains; one son, Steven Collins and wife, Debbie, Doniphan; one grandson, Scott Goehring, Independence; two granddaughters, Monica and Mallory Collins, both of Doniphan; two sisters, Norma Lea Rowlett and husband Joe, and Anna Loree Morris and husband Bob, all of West Plains.
  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Denzil Collins.
  Burial will be in Ledbetter Cemetery, Howell County, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of West Plains.
