| West Plains Daily Quill, Thursday, December 23, 1948 Child with Ruptured Appendix Dies Here Early This Morning Lloyd Leon Stubbs, 3-year-old son of Mr and Mrs Everett Stubbs of Siloam Springs, died at Christa Hogan Hospital early this morning following an operation for a ruptured appendix yesterday. The child was brought to the hospital yesterday suffering from a ruptured appendix and acute peritonitis and an emergency operation was performed with the hope of saving his life. He died at 6 o'clock this morning. He was born March 24, 1945. Surviving relatives include his parents; a brother, Kenneth Leo, 2; two half sisters, Oda Lee Wheelock, 9; and Eva Lee Wheelock, 7; the paternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs Zeek Stubbs of Siloam Springs and his maternal grandfather, Lee Collins of Siloam Springs. Funeral services for the baby will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Siloam Springs Church with the Rev Iva Holmes officiating. The Hall brothers of West Plains will sing the funeral hymns and burial will be in the Collins Cemetery west of West Plains. The body will be removed from the Robertson Funeral Home this afternoon to the home of the paternal grandparents where it will remain until time for the services tomorrow. |
