Leonard Leroy Jones, Sr., son of the late John Calvin and Mary Johnson Jones, was born at West Plains, Missouri, May 4, 1924. Entered into eternal rest November 13, 1980 at the age of fifty-six years.
He received his education in the West Plains Public School System, and on October 28, 1944 he was married at Salem, Arkansas to Ina Roberts.
Mr Jones is survived by a daughter and son in law, Clyde and Linda Akins, Strafford, Missouri; one grandson, Thomas Calvin Jones, Kalamazoo, Michigan; two sisters, Lucille Hayes, West Plains, Missouri; Beulah Lovins, Kalamazoo, Michigan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Leonard Leroy Jones, Jr.; and one grandson, David Gregory Jones.
Until his retirement, Mr Jones was maintenance supervisor at Cox Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri. He a member of the Blue Grass Music Association in Springfield, Missouri, and had performed in a number of musical programs in this area. He had been a member of the Baptist Church since young manhood, his present membership being in the Fairgrove Baptist Church.
