| West Plains Daily Quill Jan. 13, 2004 Lee Collins services Friday Funeral services for Lee Otis Collins, 75, Koshkonong, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. Mr. Collins died 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at his home. He was born May 10, 1928, in Howell County, the son of Henry P. and Martha Jane Johnson Collins. On Sept. 13, 1948, he was married at Salem, Ark., to Alice Marlene Javax. Mr. Collins had been employed as a heavy equipment operator at South Lake Farms, Corcoran, Calif. He loved horses and enjoyed living and working in Koshkoong where he served as a city alderman. Mr. Collins enjoyed dancing and was proud of his American/Cherokee heritage. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Marlene Collins, of the family home; 11 children, Dennis Lee Collins, and Rufus Dean Collins and wife, Debbie, all of West Plains, David Eugene Collins and wife, Terri, and Rose Etta Coble and husband, Verlan, all of Rover, Neva Jane Heggie, and Mary Louise Gomez and husband, Joe, all of Corcoran, Roy Dee Collins and wife, Donna, Clifford Lynn Collins and wife, Vonda, and Billy Ray Collins and wife, Tina, all of Koshkonong, Anna Lou Mitchell and husband, Larry, Jackson, Ga., and Margaret Faye McCallister and husband, Terry, Ozark; 36 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flora Sanders and husband, Don, Eugene, Ore., and Ola Stubbs, Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; one daughter, Donna Jean Russell; two brothers; two sisters; and one son-in-law, Mike Heggie. Memorial contributions may be made to Collins Cemetery and left at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Thursday until service time. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. |
