Lawrence Collins services held
Graveside services for Lawrence Collins, 75, Willow Springs, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan 4, 1998, at Carroll Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Hicks officiating under the direction of Hiler Funeral Home of Willow Springs.
Mr. Collins died at 6:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. He was born Dec. 3, 1922, at Walnut Ridge, Ark., the son of Leonard and Winnie Collins.
On March 8, 1962, he was married at Willow Springs to Mary Leininger.
Mr. Collins was a crew leader with the U.S. Forestry Department.
Survivors include five children, Dale Collins and wife, Chris, Steven "Peanut" Collins and wife Cindy, Lawrence "Bimbo" Collins, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Lloyd Collins and wife, Shirley, all of Willow Springs, and Sharon O'Conner and husband, Elvin, West Plains; three brothers, Paul Collins and Charles Collins, both of Willow Springs, and Noah Collins, West Plains; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, James Robert "Robin" Collins; two brothers and one sister.
