| West Plains Quill, April 7, 1964 Thomas Johnson Succumbs Here Thomas James Johnson, Twin Bridges, died at 9:45 last night at the Wetzel Nursing Home here following a five months illness. Mr Johnson was born at Hebron, Mo., Feb. 2 , 1889 to the late John William and Louisa Collins Johnson. He had spent his entire life in the Twin Bridges Community where he was engaged in farming. In September, 1911, he was married to Hattie Ecton. She died in November 1959. In January of 1961 he was married to Florence Adams, who died April 14, 1963. Surviving are three children, Starlin Johnson of Dora, Herlin Johnson of Twin Bridges, and Mrs Norma Nance of Republic; and a sister, Mrs Cordelia Huett of Caldwell, Idaho. Mr Johnson was a Baptist since early manhood. For many years he served as director for the Big Springs School Board in Douglas County. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be under the direction of Roberston Funeral Home. unknown paper Warren Omer Johnson was born on August 30, 1906 at Old Horton, Missouri, the son of John Wesley and Martha Ann Chaney Johnson. He departed this life on Friday, May 7, 1993 at the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Imo Jane Collins on June 21, 1939 at West Plains, Missouri, and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers, Lewis, Wesley, Everett, Elbert, Herbert, and William Johnson. Warren was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Flat Rock. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Imo Jane, of the home, three sons, Adrian E. Johnson & William "Bill" Johnson both of Willow Springs, and Charles Johnson of Hutton Valley, Missouri, one sister, Eva Conley of Ellington, Missouri and four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. unknown paper Funeral services for Ima Jane Johnson, 76, Willow Springs, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Hiler Chapel in Willow Springs, witht he Rev. Ival Tooley officiating. Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. She was born Feb. 6, 1924, in West Plains, the daughter of Haywood and Rosetta Briscoe Collins. On June 21, 1939, she was married at West Plains to Warren Omer Johnson. Survivors include three sons, Adrian Johnson and William "Bill" Johnson, both of Willow Springs, and Charles Johnson, Hutton Valley; two brothers, Thurman Collins and Glen Collins both of Parma, Idaho; one sister Ermalea Tooley, Willow Springs; one half-sister, Vinnie Scott, Summersville, Ore.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and eight brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Willow Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Hiler Funeral Home. He was a retired farmer .West Plains Daily Quill Nov. 26, 2001 Willis Johnson services Tuesday Funeral services for Willis Johnson, 78, West Plains, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains, with Max Welker officiating. Mr. Johnson died 2:54 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at his home. He was born May 11, 1923, in Pocahontas, Ark., the son of Grant and Ida Clinton Johnson. On April 15, 1943, he was married at West Plains to Mildred Louise Cunningham. Mr. Johnson was an auto body and fender repairman and was a member of Pentecostal Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Johnson, of the family home; five children, Larry Johnson and wife, Jean, Tecumseh, Doris Seimears, Mount Vernon, Texas, Joyce King and husband, Othel, West Plains, Stephen Johnson, Jefferson City, and Deborah Smith and husband, Wayne, Willow Springs; 12 grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until service time. Burial will be in Homeland Cemetery, Howell County, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of West Plains. |
