Johns S. Collins Dies at 72

   Funeral services for John Sampson Collins, S. S. Rt., West Plains, will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Siloam Springs Church with the Rev. Ira Johnson officiating.
   Mr. Collins died at 11:40 yesterday morning at Christa Hogan Hospital where he was a patient only a few minutes prior to his death.
   He was born in Oklahoma territory 72 years ago to the late Ephriam and Jane Collins.  He came to Howell County as a small child with his parents.
   He married Melissa J. Clinton 51 years ago.  They made their home continuously near Siloam Springs in Howell County where he was engaged in farming.
   Surviving besides his wife is an only son, Russell Collins, Wilder, Idaho; two stepsons, Arthur Collins, Wilder, Idaho, and Claude M. Collins, S. S. Rt.  A son, Virgil Collins, precedes his father.  There are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  There is a half sister, Rosa Couterman, whose where-abouts are unknown and a half brother, McKinley Collins, state of Kansas.
   Mr. Collins was a member of the Christian Church since early manhood.
   Burial will be in Collins Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home.
