Funeral services for Jewell F. Collins, 81, of Ellis, Kan., were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Wasinger Funeral Chapel in Ellis with Rev. Lewis Vanderwege officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Ellis.
Mrs. Collins died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at her residence in Ellis. She was born June 19, 1919, in Ozark County, the daughter of James Madison and Amanda Rosella (Loveall) Allcorn. On Feb. 8, 1939, she married Truman Ferl Collins in Gainesville.
She was a homemaker and moved to Ellis in 1960 from Stafford, Kan.
Mrs. Collins is survived by two sons, Edwin Collins of Ellis and Ernest Collins of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughter, Rosella Waters of Mountain Home, Ark., Irene Edwards and Vivian Joy Collins, both of Ellis; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
