| Thursday, May 6th, 1920 in the "Personals", Crawfordsville newspaper. Mrs. Maud Robertson Hodgkins of Fort Wayne , and Harry Robertson of Indianapolis have been called home by the serious illness of their mother, Mrs. Allan Robertson, of East Binford St. Mrs. Robertson�s condition is such that little hope is held for her recovery. May 7th, 1920 (I think, PLR) Headline: "Wife of Allan Robertson dead at ripe old age" Jeanette Sidener Robertson, wife of Allan Robertson, died at 2:30 O�clock, Thursday afternoon at her home, 707 Binford Street, of a complication of diseases incident to her age. She has been seriously ill for 2 weeks. She was the daughter of James B. & Elizabeth Sidener, pioneers of this county, entering government land in an early day. She was born November 28th, 1843 at the home 3 miles south of town & grew to womanhood there She was married February 20th, 1873 to Allan Robertson. To them were born two children, Harry R. of & Mrs. Maud Hodgkins of Fort Wayne. There are 2 grandchildren, Raymond and George R. who, with her aged husband remain to mourn her demise. She was one of a family of nine children, William W. Sidener being the only one surviving. She possessed all of the lovable qualities of a pure woman and none knew her but to love her. Mrs. Robertson was one of those women mentioned in the bible, whose price is above rubies. She was a faithful daughter, sister, mother, and wife, fulfilling every duty in a faithful way. She was a member of the Christian Church of this city. Funeral services will be held from the home at 2:30 O�clock Saturday afternoon, and will be conducted by Rev. C.W. Ross of the Christian Church. Interment at Masonic cemetery. |
