| West Plains Daily Quill May 24, 2001 James "Red" Madden services Saturday Graveside services for James Eugene "Red" Madden, 67, Willow Springs, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2001, at the Horton Cemetery, with the Rev. Stasey Sheppard officiating under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Madden died 11:12 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. He was born July 8, 1933, at Koshkonong, the son of Paul Eugene Madden and Fern Roper Madden. He graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1952, and on March 8, 1958 was married at Tunica, Miss. to Maxine Collins. He was a very unselfish, carring person and could see better then people with perfect vision. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Madden was of the Baptist faith and in the last few years had rededicated his life to God. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Madden, of the family home; four children, James Eugene Madden Jr., and Charm Renee Chappa and husband, Johnny, all of Willow Springs, Charolett Smith and husband, Mike, Bear Lake, Penn., and Bronwen Madden, Columbia; a daughter-in-law, Valerie Madden, Willow Springs; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, A.D. "Zip" Madden and wife, Ruth, Willow Springs; one sister, Janella Madden, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ronnie James "Rip' Madden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Clinic of West Plains and left at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 3 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday at the funeral home. |
