Hershel Benson Hollingshad, son of the late Robert Lee (General) and Tobitha Mitts Hollingshad, was born at Crider, Missouri, December 10, 1903. Entered into eternal rest december 24th, 1973, at the age of seventy years.
Mr. Hollingshad was married September 1st, 1934, at West Plains, Missouri to Velvie Bird, who survives him, as do five children, James Guy Hollingshad, Renton, Washington, Frances Ruth Renner, Arondo, Washington, Rovert Lee Hollingshad and Hershel Benson Hollingshad, Jr. both of Dora, Missouri, and Sharon Kay Huffman of East Wenatchee, Washington. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, who are Guy W. Hollingshad and Hazel Panrucher, both of Kansas City, Missouri, and Camille Archer of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Arlo Hollingshad, Pittsburg, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
Mr. Hollingshad taught school for several years in Douglas and Ozark Counties, and was a member of the Dora School Board for several years, having served that board as President.
He has been a member of the church of Chirst for twenty-six years, his membership being in the Dora Church of Christ, where he taught a Sunday School class.
