Herbert Luther Lung, son of the late Charles and Lucinda Johnson Lung, was born January 30, 1913 at West Plains, Missouri. Entered into eternal rest April 10, 1986 at the age of seventy-three years.
He received his education in the Greenwood school near West Plains, and in 1931 was married in West Plains to Iva Mae Billups.
Mr Lung was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army in the European Theatre of Operations.
He is survived by his wife, Iva Lung, of the family home, two daughters, Mrs Charles (Ruby) Hall, Napton, Missouri, and Mrs Allen (Martha) Diamond, Greenville, Tennessee; three brothers, Wes Lung, and Emery Lung, both of West Plains, Missouri, and Alvin Lung, Eaton Rapids, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs Ted (Lona) Sharp, and Mrs G D (Bertha) Moffis, both of West Plains; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr Lung is preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Billy Joe, Charles Fred, and Donald Gene Lung, and one sister, Christeena Myers.
He was of the General Baptist faith.
