Services today for Granville C Johnson
Funeral services for Granville Cecil Johnson Jr., 104, Chastains Home Inc, Mtn Home, Ark, were held at 1:30 pm today in the Carter Chapel at West Plains with Elder Ira Johnson officiating.
Mr Johnson died at 9 pm Friday in Baxter General Hospital at Mtn. Home, Ark. He was born Nov. 3, 1874, in Douglas Co., MO, the son of the late Granville Johnson Sr. and Haley Johnson.
He was married at Izard County, Ark., to Ida Lee Clinton, who preceded him in death. He was a retired laborer, and he was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in West Plains for 45 years.
Survivors include four sons, Fremont Johnson, West Plains, Gale Johnson, West Plains, Everett Johnson, Florence, Ala., Willis Johnson, Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs Florence Richardson, West Plains; Mrs Mamie Hublitz, West Plains; 50 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 20 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, five brothers, three sisters, three sons, Richard, Elmie, Elvin and one daughter, Eva.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Carter Funeral Home of West Plains
