LAST RITES FOR WALTER LEIBENGOOD
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Keithsburg Methodist church for G. Walter Leibengood, with the pastor, Rev. John Keller officiating. Burial was in Greenmound cemetery.
Mr. Leibengood, a retired farmer, died at Galesburg Cottage hospital at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, April 24. He had been a patient there 12 days.
He was born September 27, 1872, at Keithsburg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Leibengood. he married Alta Mae Ditto January 18, 1896, who died in 1900. A daughter, Mrs. Ferris Curry of Illinois City survies. Two children preceded him in death.
He later married Mary Elizabeth Meyer of Monmouth. There were seven children born to this marriage, five of whom survive. They are Mrs. Flora yoeman of Waukegan, Virginia Leibengood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marie Leibengood of Florida, and Edward and Paul L. of Chicago.
Mr. Leibengood is also survived by several grandchildren and two nephews, Ray Sacrison of Aledo who was reared in the Leibengood hom, and George L. of Keithsburg.
