| West Plains Daily Quill June 16, 1987 Fred Collins services held Funeral services for Fred Collins, 76, Mtn. View, will be at 10 am Thursday in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. Mr. Collins died at 5:15 am June 16, 1987, at his home. He was born Jan. 10,1911, at Dalton, Ark., the son of the late Crawford and Maggie Collins. On Dec. 28, 1931, he was married at Willow Springs to Zelma R. Oaks. Mr. Collins was a farmer and was an active coon hunter for many years. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include is wife Zelma Collins, of the home; nine children, Delbert Collins, Carol Jean Donelson, Homer Collins, Leon Collins, all of Kansas City, Anna Rutkowski, Chicago, Ill., Wayne Collins, Pasadena, Texas, Vanis Collins, Springfield, Sandy Mick, Kansas City, and Connie June Miller, Raymore; 35 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Buster Collins, Pomona; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Mildred Irene Collins, who died in infancy, one son, Jay D. Collins, five brothers and sisters and one half brother. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. |
