IVAN RAY FORD

     Ivan Ray Ford of Beech, Iowa passed away Saturday, May 25, 1985 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 58 years. He had been ill with cancer since the first of the year. He was born on December 26, 1926 in Marion County, Iowa near Pleasantville, Iowa, the son of Robert and Nannie Stanberry Ford. He received his education in the Pleasantville schools and graduated from Pleasantville High School in the Class of 1944. He farmed in his early life and later he entered the carpentry trade which he worked at until his illness forced him to retire.
     He was united in marriage to Margaret Thorpe on April 19, 1974 at Princeton,
Missouri and has lived in the Beech community for the past 20 years.
He was preceeded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife Margaret, three
daughters, Sheila and son-in-law Steve Green of Golden, Colorado; Rhonda and
son-in-law Kelly Green of Indianola, Iowa; Madaline Ford and son James ford at
home. Also surviving are two sisters, Eva Hampton and Kathryne Rees of
Pleasantville.
     Services were held Tuesday, May 28, 1985 at Mason Funeral Home with Pastor Randy
     Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Crane, Carroll HeHeer, Mike
Hampton, Howard DeHeer, Phillip Richards, and Harvey Rees.



NORMA JEAN SPEED OBITUARY

     Norma Jean Speed Crawford was born on April 12, 1927 in Pleasantville Iowa, the
daughter of John and Flossie Hillabolt Speed. She was raised in Pleasantville
and graduated with the class of 1944. She lived in Indianola before moving to
Des Moines in 1984. Norma was a member of Union Park Christian Church in Des
Moines. She passed away Monday, December 30, 1996 at Des Moines General Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 69 years, eight months, and 19 days.
     Norma was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Mark.
     She is survived by two daughters: Rhonda Green and husband Kelly of Indianola
and Sheila Green and husband Steve of Golden, Colorado. Also surviving are three
grandchildren, Justine Green, B.J. Green, Stetson Green; one great-granddaughter
Brooke Green; one brother Forrest Speed of Carlisle; one sister Fay Crawford of
Des Moines and a sister-in-law Marion Speed of Knoxville.
     Services were held Friday, January 3, 1997 at Mason Funeral Home in
Pleasantville, Iowa with Rev. Bob Connors officiating. Casket bearers were David
Speed, Dave Crawford, Richard Blahnik, Jack Richards, Mike Hampton and Gerald
Crawford. Memorials may be made to the Union Park Christian Church. Interment
was at the Pleasantville Cemetery.
