| West Plains Daily Quill Nov. 22, 1999 Funeral services Tues. for Evelyn Oaks Funeral Services for Evelyn Elsie Oaks, 64, West Plains, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funerl Home of West Plains. Mrs. Oaks died 5 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield. She was born Jan. 28, 1935, near Siloam Springs, the daughter of Elmer and Alta Collins. On June 16, 1950, she was married at Salem, Ark., to Ralph Edmond Oaks, who preceded her in death March 27, 1984. Mrs. Oaks was a member of Bluebird Garden Club and AmVets Auxiliary. She was very active in the Pomona Full Gospel Church. Survivors include three children, Teresa Joan Wilson and husband, Arlie R., Arnold, Roger Lynn Oaks and wife, Ginger, Rogersville, and Pamela Chalene Welsh, West Plains; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Layman, Carin Wilson, Julie Allen, Adam Oaks, Jessica Oaks, Lance Edmond Oaks, Lesley Welsh and Lucas Welsh; one great grandchild, Dylan Allen; four brothers, Dophis Collins and wife, Lee, and Dale Collins, all of Willow Springs, Delmar Collins and wife, Norma Lee, Dora, Dewey Collins and wife, Connie, Sedalia; one sister, Etta Coursey and husband, Don, West Plains; three sisters-in-law, Nona Oaks and Louise Collins, both of West Plains, and Adeline Collins, Pomona; special cousins, Dallas Stubbs and wife, Irene, Willow Springs; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant daughter; three brother, Dean Collins, Darrell Collins and Teddy Collins; two sisters, Betty Shockley and Barbara Collins; and her mother-in-law, Bertha Oaks. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. |
