| Howell County News Jan. 29, 2004 Estel M. Wake Estel M. Wake of Willow Springs, son of the late Otis and Pearley Turnbough Wake, was born March 24, 1922, in Vanzant, Mo. He died Jan. 23, 2004, at his home in Willow Springs at the age of 81 years, nine months and 30 days. He was united in marriage to Doris Smith on Jan. 23, 1942, at Vanzant, Mo. She preceded him in death, and he married Carol Angerman on Sept. 3, 1999, at Willow Springs, Mo. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was owner/operator of a construction company and a member of Bethel Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Carol Wake, of the family home; daughters, Lenna Wake of Willow Springs, Bonnie Cain of Alpine, Texas, and Juanita Collins of Willow Springs; stepchildren, Paul Whittier of Vanzant, Lisa Fair of Mountain Grove and Julie Whittier of Vanzant; brothers, Arlin, Gardner, Guy and Johnny Wake, all of Willow Springs; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris; daughter, Louise; grandson, Danny; great-grandson, Bryan; brothers, Buster and Vaude; sister, Imogene Reed; sister-in-law, June; and his father and mother. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Little Zion Church. Burial will be in Little Zion Cemetery with Willow Funeral Home in charge. |
