| Howell County News Jan. 1, 2004 Elvena Woolard Beloved wife and mother, Elvena Woolard died on Dec. 25, 2003, in Cox Hospital, Springfield, Mo. She was born March 7, 1932, in Douglas County, the daughter of Jim and Georgia Collins Davis. She was the loving wife of Glen Woolard for 52 years, 10 months and 12 days. They were married in Salem, Ark., on March 3, 1951, and to this wonderful union , two daughters were born. Vina Kay Harris and husband, Stanley, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Debria Woolard, also of Jefferson City, and two brothers, Otis Davis and Pete Davis, both of Willow Springs, all survive as do nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends. Elvena was met in heaven by her twin babies who died at birth, a sister, Moline Briscoe, her parents and her infant sister, Francis. She has left behind many friends and relatives with wonderful memories who will miss her very much. She enjoyed fishing, square dancing, her flowers, yard sales and of course her family. On Christmas day, the Lord called for my wife and our mother, and on this day, an angel got her wings, and she can sing in his wonderful grace. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, in Elliott-Gentry funeral Chapel in Cabool with Rev. Doug Brower officiating. Burial was in Flat Rock Cemetery in Douglas County. Pallbearers were O'Dele Davis, Jeremy Davis, Brad McNew, John Woolard, Darrell Woolard and Ron Woolard. |
