Aged Woman Passes To Rest
1837-1918
On January 4th, at the home of her eldest son, S.M. Collins, Dosia Ann Collins passed peacefully away about 10 o'clock a.m. She had talked very little for the last three or four days, but revived about 9 a.m. and called her eldest son to her bedside. Taking his hand, she told him that her Saviour was waiting for her in Heaven and to tell all the rest. Aunt Dosia, who was eighty years old, was well known and beloved by all who knew her. And what a blessed thought that when Grandma heard the dip of the boatman's oars, as she neared the river, that the Saviour's face did light the way. Eight living children survive her, S.M. Collins, Wm. Collins, J.H. Collins, A.F. Collins, Mrs. Jane Collins, of near Shinkle, Mrs. Harriet Welch of Independence, Kan., who was summoned to the funeral, Mrs. Mattie Davis and Mrs. Sadie Lowtrip.
