DONALD RHYSE DENNIS, of Willow Springs, son of the late Alva E. Dennis and Erma Smith Dennis, was born Sept. 15, 1936 in Willow Springs, MO. He died Dec. 12, 2003 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 67 years 2 months and 27 days.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving in Guam, Morocco, and Vietnam. He was a retired teacher at the Pentagon, and was also stationed at the Great Lakes.
Survivors include his siter, Norma Smith of Willow Springs; nephew, Doyle Smith and wife Dana of West Plains; great-nephews; Keith Smith and wife Rexanna, Randy Smith and Jake Smith, all of West Plains; very special friend, Linda Elgha of Willow Springs and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Dennis, 1 niece, Cherrie Lynn Smith, and his father and mother.
Services are Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003 at the First GEneral Baptist Church beginning at 10 am. Burial at Willow Springs City Cemetery with Willow Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
