| Seaton Indpendent, September 1, 1949 Mrs. C.G. Ditto. Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Park Ditto, who died at her home in Hinsdale, Tuesday morning were held at the Seventh Day Adventist church at Hinsdale at 1:30 p.m. Monday and the S.D.A church northwest of Seaton at 2 o.m. Tuesday. Elder Harold L. Calkins of Moline officiated at the services. Burial was in Candor cemetery. Mrs. Ditto was born near Viola, December 28, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Park. She engaged in teaching for a time and operated a photograph studio in Aledo before her marriage to Cortis G. Ditto September 1, 1897. They resided in the Seaton community before moving to New Mexico and for the past 20 years the family home has been at Hinsdale. She has been a memeber of the S.D.A. church for 50 years. Surviving are the widower and five daughters, Miss Dorothy Kaercher, Mrs. Esther Thompson and Mrs. Winifred Gerling of California; Mrs. Ruth Smilie, Joliet, and Miss Grace Ditto, Hinsdale. A sister Mrs. Anna Cabeen of Seaton and a brother Archie Park of Florida survive. |

| Friday, April 5, 1901, Newspaper Unknown MRS. ELIZABETH FOX. Elizabeth Ditto was born in Shelby Co., Ohio in 1826, died in Seaton, Illinois, April 2, 1901, aged 75 years. She came with her parents to Mercer County Illinois, about the last of May 1836. She was married to Benjamin A. Fox on the 16th day of February 1846. By this union there were ten children, six boys and four girls. Three children survive her, Francis E., Mary J. Wheatley and A. J. Fox. Her husband died March 13, 1882. She was converted and joined the M.E. church about the year 1875. Five years ago she placed her membership with the U.B. church of Seaton, in which communion she remained to the time of her death. She leaves four brothers, one sister, twenty-one grandchildr3en, and three great-grandchildren. Hers was a life of industry and attention to the duties of home life. She witnessed the marvelous transformations that have occurred in the past sixty-five years. She died in peace. The funeral service was conducted from the U.B. church by her pastor, Rev. J.M. Poulton, assisted by Rev. C.M. Robb, and the remains were laid to rest Thursday in the Candor cemetery. |

| Seaton Independent, January 19, 1922. David Willett Passes Away. David Willett, a Civil War veteran and a life resident of Mercer County passed away at the Watertown hospital Saturday. The remains were taken to Keithsburg and funeral services held from the Christian church Tuesday afternoon. The services were in charge of the M.W.A. Lodge of which Mr. Willett was an honored member. He was also a member of Isaac McManus Post G.A.R. Deceased was born on the Willett farm, now known as the Jackson farm northwest of Seaton 70 years ago. He was a good citizen but had been in ill health for several years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Ditto Willett, one son William Willett of Keithsburg and six daughters, Mrs. Ed Bohan and Mrs. James Whitehall, Jr., of Keithsburg, Mrs. Almitta Basham of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. William Webb and Mrs. Lucile Berdinier of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Mrs. George Jamison of Ford, Kansas, all of whom were present at the funeral services. A son, Thomas Willett and a daughter Mrs. Mabel Haupt preceded him in death. |

| Seaton Independent, June 13, 1929 AGED KEITHSBURG WOMAN DIES. Relatives From Here Attend services of Mrs. Elizabeth Willett, Aged 81. Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Willett, age 81 years of Keithsburg, were held from the Keithsburg Christian church, Monday afternoon, with Rev. A.O. hargis officiating. Burial was in Greenmound cemetery. Elizabeth Ditto Willett was born in Abington township, April 11, 1848. Her parents, Samuel and Margaret Seaton Ditto, were pioneer residents of this township. She was married to David Willett January 14, 1865. Most of her married life was spent in Keithsburg, where he husband died seven years ago. Mrs. Willett was a member of the Keithsburg Christian Church, the Ladies' Aid Society, the Women's Relief Corps of Isaac McManus Post and when her healt permitted took an active interest in community affairs. Surviving are seven children: Mrs. Margaret Bowen, Mrs. Anna Whitehall and Wm. Willet of Keithsburg; Mrs. Belle Wibb of Oskaloosa, Ia.; Mrs. Almitta Nielson, Tacoma, Wash.' Mrs. Lucile Emmert, California and Mrs. Florence Jamison, Sturgeon, Mo. Three sons and a daughter preceded her in death. She also leaves ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Anna Clark of Ford, Kan., and two brothers, Duncan Ditto of Marysville, Mo., and George Ditto of Portland, Oregon, also survive. Relatives who attended the funeral from this vicinity were: James Saunders, Mr. and Mrs. V.R. Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. G.S. Greer, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McIntire and daughter Clio: (illegible) and Miss Cora Jackson. |
