Funeral services for Cora May Collins, 84, West Plains, were held at 2 pm today in the Carter Chapel, West Plains, with the Rev. James Sharp officiating.
Mrs Collins died at 9:45 am Friday at the home of her son, George A Collins of West Plains. She was born Jan 21, 1896, at Noble, Ark, the daughter of the late George Wesley and Barbara Ellen Poyner Collins.
On March 18, 1916, she was married at West Plains to John Benton Collins who preceded her in death Dec. 6, 1967. She was a member of the Davis Creek Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include eight children, Edward Collins, George Collins, Amos Collins, West Plains; Harold Collins Hermosa Beach, Calif.; Boyd Collins, Hereford, Texas;Neal Collins, Harrison, Ark.; Magdelene Surritte, West Plains; Virginia Radbury, Tempe, Ariz.; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother Cleo Collins, St. Louis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, two brothers one son John Benton Collins Jr., and one grandson, George A. Collins Jr.
Burial was in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the Carter Funeral Home of West Plains.
